In this series of our content, we discussed Professor Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences and discussed human intelligence with this professor from Harvard University.
He proposed that humans have multiple and multifaceted intelligences, which he separated these intelligences into eight parts first and after further research into ten separate parts, which include:
1: visual-spatial intelligence
2: verbal-linguistic intelligence
3: logical-mathematical intelligence
4: physical-motor intelligence
5: Musical intelligence
6: Interpersonal intelligence
7: intrapersonal intelligence
8: Naturalistic intelligence
Professor Gardner has been criticized that these categories are very general and no attention has been paid to the details. But Professor Gardner’s goal has been this, to provide a comprehensive classification of human intelligence and depict a general road map for us.
For example, let’s see if we have a higher mathematical intelligence or is our musical intelligence more advanced?
After giving this general answer, we can go into details in this area. Now, for example, if I realized that I have high motor-kinetic intelligence and can become a successful athlete, I should find a suitable sport for me.
So, we can get this basic overview from the theory of multiple intelligences and after testing and studying in this regard to discover our own talents and interests, we can go into details and different disciplines.
